Lot 447
1793 S-2 R4+ Chain AMERICA AG3. Glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. No corrosion or verdigris, but there are two very tiny pits in the hair at the top of the head and a deep planchet void at the top of the C in CENT. The date is quite faint, essentially gone, but LIBERTY and most of the legend on the reverse remains visible. Removed from a PCGS slab called Genuine, PCGS label #1341.98/16536491 included.

  Pair of Electrotype Copies 1793 & 1799. Includes a 1793 S-3 Chain America electrotype copy in VF25 with some of the underlying base metal showing through on the highpoints of the hair and a 1799/8 S-188 electrotype copy VF25 sharpness net F12 for some very fine porosity on both sides. Lot of 2 copies.
